A new song, based on a poem by Yasmin. The poem is for all four seasons; this is the part that is about autumn and winter (full text below).
The poem:
===================
Let your bad thoughts shed
and fall like the leaves
as we glide into a warm colourful Autumn.
My shade from the trees protects you
and creates a calm comforting sun.
Letting go of the leaves just like you let go
of who you don’t want to become.
My ever evolving cycle
gives you ripeness and maturity.
My harvest will provide you
with wealth and prosperity.
If Spring offers you childhood,
and Summer represents youth,
Then in Autumn, you mature
into adulthood and different kind of truth.
I give you time to collect your food
and prepare for hibernation.
Now is the time to think ahead
and lay your surviving foundations.
My days and nights are of equal length
on the autumnal equinox.
It’s up to you to take the leap and
open the Pandora’s box.
As all of the green dissipates
and falls towards the earth.
The chilling freeze of Winter descends
and you begin to acknowledge your worth
My cold touch can wake you up
from a deep deep sleep
And with the same touch, my cold
can leave you vulnerable and weak.
You might think that my early nights
will leave you in the dark,
But my pitch, black sky only brightens
the moon, that can illuminate your path.
My calm stillness will give you the chance
to reflect and look inward.
Think of how your year has passed,
but also begin to look forward.
We move, we progress,
we rise and we grow.
We’re connected, we’re intertwined
in deeper ways than we’ll ever know.
I am the four seasons that circle Earth,
Always giving, but please don’t take more than enough.
We’ve got all year to get to know each other,
So let’s enjoy it and fill it with love.
